I'm in my mid-twenties, vacillating between feeling both lucky and lost at all times. It's like being a big fuzzy bee who bounces from one window to the other window trapped in your sun-warmed kitchen, but I can't wear yellow and I'm a human.

I want to send you mail. Check out Posts From PA. You can email me

postsfrompa:

I want to pick who gets these original postcards (the first ever made by me from City Paper cut-outs) in a fun way. A raaaaaaaandom drawing!

So. Reblog this and follow the blog (postsfrompa) on tumblr to “enter.”

If you already messaged me for a postcard this week and I didn’t yet message you back to say I sent you yours, you can still enter!

Thanks in advance for helping me spread the word about the project and good luck!

I told you Scarlett’s really good at mail.
First, I know a few postcards have recently landed in their new owner’s hands, one request: DON’T CHANGE WHAT YOU WERE PLANNING ON DOING.
This is Scarlett’s take on this - but I want to see what you would do with it. Your very original - only how you’d do it - response.
Now that that’s out of the way.
Scarlett, 25, Los Angeles
Check this out! Totally not anything I was expecting. It’s very interpretational in many ways (I’m excited to see how responses will fall on the interpretational/literal spectrum). So it might be a little tricky for me to align it with my questions. I think it serves Scarlett’s very visible effort better if you just check out the photos.
She deconstructed $25 for this. $25 which she obviously can no longer spend. I interpret this as her saying she values art and creativity and following your passion more than material things.
She also included a couple of dollar bill “rings” with the instructions, “The money rings are for whatever you choose…to wear, to pass on, to unfold and pay for coffee…your choice.”
The key chain necklace also came with instructions, “The necklace was a purchase. It’s called The Giving Keys. Each key is imprinted with a different word. The idea is that you wear it as long as you need it, + then you pass it on to someone else who needs it.”
There are a lot of lessons here. Looking at this and reading it - I feel this sense of giving, believing, and the importance of truly owning your own beauty and your own gifts. And to not be afraid of pursuing those things which make you happy. Those dreams of yours, can be yours.

Want some mail? Fantastic. Because I want to send you some. Check out my new project on my secondary blog, postsfrompa.com.

The thing about mail…is the waiting. So, I thought I’d show off one of my old postcards from Philadelphia in the meantime. I found this at an antique fair in upstate New York. I love the colors on the front. On the back it reads:
Sep 12/09 [like, as in, 1909]
My dear Mrs. Ortinin,The enclosed cards will remind you that I am thinking of you -  as I often do. And I hope I may have the pleasure of calling on you sometime during the coming Fall. I hope that the family are all well. Please give my regards to Mrs. Hoestein and the little … … and to you dear lady. [Then a sentence that’s been scraped off].
